Kai
My cat Kai.
About 5 years ago I walked into the Humane Society on the Big Island of Hawaii looking to adopt a kitten. In the corner of the top bunk beds they had set up for the cat's was this older orange cat. Grungy and skinny he was not the type of cat you would want to bring home. The ladies told me his days were numbered and would be put down the next day or two.....That's all they had to say, he was mine now! I brought Kai home with us. He was scared, grungy and clearly could tell he had been abused. It took me many years to get Kai to warm up to me. To even let me even pet him. A year ago we made the decision to move back to California. This brought us to the question, Should we bring the cats? "Of Course!" I said to my husband. I could not leave this cat after all I did to gain his trust. So here we are...Big, fat, and happy living in California now :) He is the most loving cat, and loves to run around the house with my little girl , and stands by her side all day long! I am glad Kai and I met that day and I was able to give him a home he never had :)

Where Has The Time Gone
Well here I am. Trying to decide where to start. It looks like it has been since fall since my last blog. So much has come and gone since that time. June is almost over and it felt like it just started yesterday? I am promising myself to start blogging. To be better at showcasing my work. To keep pushing myself to take photos. ( I have a newborn at home and a two year old which makes it a little harder ;) But I will do it! So this is my promise to you. Keep taking photos, keep producing amazing art, and to keep blogging! :)

Photo Of The Day: Lavender Storm
Anaehoomalu Bay
This photo was taken at Anaehoomalu Bay on
the Big Island of Hawaii, where I lived for 5 years. It is such an amazing beach with tons of lava rock all around creating beautiful scenery. To achieve this photo I placed my camera on my tripod and took at a really slow shutter to make the waves dreamy. This is one of my favorite photos !

Photo Of The Day
This is one of my favorite photos taken in Kyoto Japan. I had to run ahead to get this shot of the rickshaw. On my way I tripped and fell on my face...leaving everyone to laugh there little butts off including the subjects in the photo! But I got the shot didn't I!
Soul Surfer...
Nothing better than walking on the beach early in the morning! I took these on Wednesday with my husband and daughter. The Coast was foggy still providing beautiful lighting!
